Trinidad, the heftier half of Trinidad and Tobago, is a superb gem less than 10 miles off the shore of Venezuela. Perhaps most notably known for its spectacular annual Carnival, its cricketing prowess and of being the birthplace of Calypso and Steel band music, the island is also an excellent destination for nature lovers, birding enthusiasts, and adventure seekers. All of these and much more are possible and not difficult to see in Trinidad... if you know where to look. 

Follow me, Chris Saget, every week as I show viewers remarkable sites and places of interest that can be found in Trinidad. Having visited these locations, I will divulge some known and unknown facts about them while also describing the scenic views through various forms of multimedia.

If you are a local resident of Trinidad and have never gotten a chance to experience any of these wonders, be assured that you will be amazed after reading this. I dare you to venture to these sites to allay any doubts as you bear witness up close.

Hop on a single-seat all-terrain vehicle and enjoy this off-road romp through Arima's landscape of lush forest, featuring sand, mud, and anything else Mother Nature offers. Bamboo Cathedral

Let's take a look at another unique feature of Trinidad's landscape that surely confirms that true beauty can be found in the most inconspicuous places. Tucked away in a forested area of Chaguaramas, one can observe an expanse known as the Bamboo Cathedral.  For years, this setting has been a popular destination for people to experience the splendour of  Mother Nature. The view is, even more, breath-taking when having a pleasant stroll at twilight.  What makes this place one of Trinidad's most popular destinations is the stretch of roadway that cuts through the dense vegetation, transporting visitors into a landscape of soaring bamboo stalks that bend towards each other above the roadway forming arches reminiscent of those found in cathedrals.
