Trekking to Paria Bay and Waterfall
A beloved destination for many is the famous Paria Bay and Waterfall located on the Northern Range of Trinidad. It is one of the most captivating landmarks that Trinidad has to offer.
For all of you fit nature lovers this 2-3 hour hike may be a breeze but for those like myself, I found this trail to be somewhat challenging. Nonetheless, after hearing so many positive reviews about Paria, my mind had already been made up to visit this site at least once in my lifetime.
The hike starts at the Blanchisseuse Spring Bridge, through the forested North Coast, over uphill climbs and downhill sides, across Paria Bay and ends with a short trek to the majestic Paria Waterfall. The breath-taking views along this coastal trail definitely did not disappoint as I became engrossed by the surrounding beauty.
Before reaching Paria Waterfall, one will encounter beaches, caves, arches and other natural formations which provide a glimpse into the wonders that can be found in secluded parts of Trinidad.
Just take a look at the scenery in the picture below. Don't you feel compelled to visit this enchanting sight right this minute?
Also along the way, jutting out into the sea one cannot afford to miss the magnificent peninsula known as Turtle Rock. As the name suggests, one may come across turtles which frequent the adjacent ocean. With its stunning panoramic view of the surrounding Caribbean Sea, this spot is an ideal backdrop when taking photos.
