Safari Eco Park

Have you ever met a llama, fed a camel or scratched a kangaroo's back? You can share an experience like none other at Safari Eco Park, which sits on 40 acres of land on the north-western peninsula, Chaguaramas, Trinidad. The Hidden Zoo!! Get a chance to see a wide range of animals up close and personal. Each tour provides the breathtaking experience of seeing some of the world's most wonderful wildlife up close; even species of animals new to the country. This is a great opportunity for groups of all sizes and interests.

From my personal experience, the Safari Eco Park tour at Chaguaramas was a peaceful, informative, relaxing, enjoyable outing for my family. We were spoilt as there were only six of us for this tour but we enjoyed every minute of it. Our tour guide was extremely passionate about sharing his knowledge and pointed out some of the wildlife we had encountered, while also giving us such amazing facts about each animal. The descriptions provided of the animals were so vivid that I truly felt that I was part of an excursion in the jungles of Africa.

What makes this place so unique is the layout and personal interaction we had with the wildlife and the amount of effort put into making the park more eco-friendly. We were afforded the opportunity to not only feed, pet and play with camels, kangaroos, zebras, llamas, ponies, horses and macaws but to also enter some of their enclosures. Of course, I was a little apprehensive being that close to some of the animals, but with personnel on hand to ensure my safety, my trip was a breeze.

Now it's your turn to master your fears and recognize the beauty that lies within this park. Trust me, it will not disappoint. Even scenes of kangaroos and camels will astound your eyes. Yes in Trinidad! Who would have thought? You certainly have to be there to believe it. Other interesting animals include cougar, monkeys, wild boar, piglets, porcupine, and peacocks.

No matter where you go or what you see, this tour is guaranteed to thrill and amaze you!

There is more excitement to come in the near future with additions to the animal family and larger enclosures for the animals. With protecting Mother Nature at the forefront, these animals are bound to feel more at home at Safari Eco Park.

  2. It's good to know that I could be able to see unfamiliar animals other than the emperor Valley zoo. Staying clear of camels and lamas though I'm comfortable with my own saliva
